After completing this training, participants will be able to: 

• Identify at least 3 characteristics/symptoms of complex trauma
• Explain connection between dissociation and complex trauma
• Define 3 levels of Structural Dissociation Theory
• Identify 3 steps for treatment planning with complex trauma applying to Phases 1 and 2 of EMDR
• Define vicarious trauma and neuro-reciprocity
• Identify 3 strategies for self care when treating Complex Trauma
• Name at least 1 screening tool and 1 assessment tool utilized for dissociation
• Define at least 3 ways dissociation can manifest
• Identify 3 options to utilize in session when treating dissociative disorders
• Describe and explain adaptations in EMDR Phases 3-7 for individuals with dissociative disorders
• Identify at least 2 considerations to apply towards EMDR for DID
• Define countertransference or enactment examples and 3 ways to self care for the clinician
• Define emotional neglect and identify at least 3 negative effects of emotional neglect
• Define attachment wounds and 3 ways they can occur
• Define a healthy ego state compared to a traumatized ego state
• Explain how ego state therapy can be integrated into EMDR Phases
• Explain the role of hypnotic phenomenon in EMDR and Ego State work
• Identify 3 strategies for treating emotional neglect and healing old attachment wounds
• Complete 1 activity of self care for the clinician, that can also be taught to clients, as a way to resource oneself

This training will take place in the form of a lecture led by an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. Participants will learn more about treating complex trauma and dissociation through the 8 Phase EMDR Model and understand how to incorporate interventions from Ego State Therapy to target attachment traumas.

Yes, you will need to attend the entire training. Your attendance will be tracked via Zoom. Please keep your webcam on during all live training sessions. This is the equivalent of “being in the room” for an in-person training and is required for continuing education hours.

Trauma Specialist Training Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7268. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Trauma Specialists Training Institute is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. 15 Clock Hours.

Ego State Interventions & EMDR: Advanced Skills for Complex Trauma and Dissociation will be brought to you by Lauren Rudolph, LPC. Lauren has been practicing in the field of clinical psychology as a therapist since 2011. She specializes in the treatment of complex trauma, dissociation, and addictions in adults and adolescents of diverse backgrounds. She is certified in EMDR and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. She is also trained, and seeking certification, in Clinical Hypnosis. She is passionate about providing consultation to other EMDR therapists so that they can deepen their work with EMDR and learn how to integrate other trauma informed approaches together.
