Are you looking to be trained in EMDR?

We believe all therapists need to know how to do EMDR. EMDR as a therapy stands alone as a trauma treatment that does this beautiful thing of following the client’s brain to bring about healing. We believe that clients can benefit from this extraordinary therapy when used by a therapist who has been properly trained through Basic Training.

When you are starting out on your EMDR journey, there is an overwhelming amount of information out there. Walking through that journey alone can be difficult, uncomfortable, and intense. In our Basic Training, we strive to not only teach you the elements that you need to know, but come alongside you to guide you so you can emerge from this training feeling comfortable and confident to begin doing EMDR.

While there are many great training options available to you, our unique approach and training style sets us apart from others. Our team approach gives you as much support as possible to learn EMDR well. We have a very relational style of training and really take the time to know our trainees. We will spend our time in discussions as a group, answering your questions and interacting with the material.

We strive to honor the intersectionality of all our trainers and participants and include this lens in our training content and discussion. We actively welcome all races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. Our trainers and facilitators are here to help you each step of the way.

We exist for therapists who want to be able to do more with their clients. If you have ever been in a session and felt like you needed more tools or training to be able to actually treat the trauma your clients are experiencing, instead of just talking about it, we know how you feel!

We want to train every therapist to effectively treat trauma in their clients. The need for excellent trauma therapists is only growing. We are passionate about training you to be the best trauma therapist you can be!

LEARN MORE

Listen to what other trainees have to say about us:

This was the best training I have attended and appreciate all the work put into facilitating my learning.

Hands down the best training I've attended. Rachel was extremely knowledgeable and she covered a significant amount of information in a very interactive way (which, over zoom, with 20 or so participants is incredible.)

I really enjoyed this training and Rachel's instruction. The training was engaging and informative. I especially thought Rachel did an excellent job of navigating this training in a virtual space.

Our EMDRIA* approved Basic Training includes:

  • 6 days of training, split into 2 separate segments (3 days each)
  • 10 hours of consultation video calls with your training cohort

When you finish training with us, you will have all the required hours and components you need, following EMDRIA’s guidelines. We think that is pretty important!

Right now this training is virtual. You will have 1.5 hours of video material to watch in preparation for the training.

After that, you will join us virtually on the following schedule:

  • Day 1: 9-5:30 ET
  • Day 2: 9-5:30 ET
  • Day 3: 9-4:30 ET
  • Consultation Groups meet four times between training segments and a fifth time after Day 6
  • Day 4: 9-5:30 ET
  • Day 5: 9-5:30 ET
  • Day 6: 9-4:30 ET

The training will include didactic teaching segments, discussion segments, practice segments. You will also break out into smaller groups in order to practice the EMDR skills learned. This means that you will experience EMDR as a client, a therapist and an observer. This component is key to learning EMDR effectively and part of the requirements of EMDRIA.

*See the FAQ section for other accreditation information.

In this training you will:

Learn the history, research, and neurobiology of EMDR Therapy.
Be able to apply all 8 Phases of EMDR Therapy with your clients/patients.
Be able to adapt EMDR to special populations, giving consideration to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Learn to apply EMDR with various diagnoses and symptoms.

We are passionate about you learning EMDR Therapy well. We want you to have these skills down to be able to do great work with your clients. Everything we do in this training is designed with your learning in mind, which is why we focus on a relationally based, interactive and experiential training. We can’t wait to get to know you and have you join us! We follow all EMDRIA guidelines for this training.
