After completing this training, participants will be able to:

Participants will be able to explain how DSM-V Criteria of Borderline Personality Disorder is congruent with symptoms of attachment trauma.

Participants will be able to identify 4 Types of Caregiver Relationships that result in attachment trauma and symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder in adulthood.

Participants will be able to explain how trauma symptoms impact the ability to gather history during Phase 1 of EMDR when working with Borderline Personality Disorder.

Participants will be able to identify 3 Topics of Interest during Phase 1 when working with Borderline Personality Disorder.

Participants will be able to identify 4 possible indications of dissociation that can be identified as early as the Initial Assessment/Biopsychosocial Assessment.

Participants will be able to describe dissociation on a spectrum.

Participants will be able to describe Structural Dissociation Theory and how it applies to Borderline Personality Disorder.

Participants will be able to describe the steps of Resource Development Installation (RDI) Protocol.

Participants will be able to name at least 3 RDIs specific to Borderline Personality Disorder.

Participants will be able to demonstrate the Resource Development Installation Protocol.

Participants will be able to describe the steps of Fraser’s Table with adaptations for Borderline Personality Disorder.

Participants will be able to demonstrate the Steps of Fraser’s Table.

Participants will be able to describe why Sandra Paulsen’s Resetting Affective Circuits can be helpful for clients with Borderline Personality Disorder.

Participants will be able to demonstrate how to Establish and Test Distancing Techniques in preparation for Sandra Paulsen’s Resetting Affective Circuits.

Participants will be able to describe and explain clinical reasons for possible adaptations of Phases 3-8 when using Standard Protocol with Borderline Personality Disorder

Participants will be able to describe the steps of Affect Stabilization/Pendulation Protocol.

Participants will be able to demonstrate the steps of Affect Stabilization/Pendulation Protocol.

This advanced training includes lecture and practicum components led by an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. The training focuses on conceptualizing Borderline Personality Disorder as Complex Trauma and utilizing EMDR as an effective treatment modality. Training considers adaptations and advanced techniques at each of the 8 Phases of EMDR. Full EMDR Training required.

Jamie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor and has worked in the mental health field for 10 years. She has experience with a wide range of issues including PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and behavioral issues. She has interest in working with teens (age 15+) and adults. She specializes in Borderline Personality Disorder, attachment and complex PTSD with a passion for helping individuals learn and incorporate healthy skills to create a life worth living. She is trained in DBT and Neurofeedback and is EMDR certified.
