EMDRIA
Approved Provider
One cohort. Same dates.
Two Ways to Attend
This is a single date-specific cohort offered in two attendance formats. You choose one format at registration and stay in it for both training weekends. Consultation groups take place virtually via Zoom for every participant, regardless of attendance format.
In Person
Urbana, MD
Attend all six training days in person at our Urbana, MD location. You'll participate in large group lecture including demonstrations alongside both in person and virtual attendees, and join in-person small group practice sessions with your fellow in-person trainees. Consultation groups (10 hours total) take place virtually via Zoom.
Best if you're local to the Mid-Atlantic, want the in-person practice experience, or know you focus best in a room with other clinicians.
Register-in-person link will be live shortly
Virtual
Live via Zoom
Attend all six training days live via Zoom from your own space. You'll participate in large group lecture including demonstrations alongside both in person and virtual attendees, and join virtual small group practice sessions with your fellow virtual trainees. Consultation groups (10 hours total) take place virtually via Zoom.
Best if you can't travel to Maryland, prefer to learn from your own space, or want to keep your home office routine for the practice work.
Register-virtual link will be live shortly
Mixing formats across the two weekends is not permitted. Small group practice cohorts are formed by attendance type at the start of the training and stay together through both weekends.
Why this training matters
What Changes After This Training
Most clinicians walk into Day 1 with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. By Day 3, something has usually shifted.
How You Listen
Before EMDR training, a client describing anxiety around conflict registers as an anxiety presentation. After training, you hear it differently. You're already tracing backward: what's the earliest memory of conflict that still carries emotional charge?
How You Plan Treatment
Your sessions take on a different structure. You know when a client needs more stabilization before you touch trauma material, and how to sequence targets across a treatment plan.
What Happens in Session
During reprocessing, you watch clients make connections you didn't anticipate, arrive at insights that might have taken months of talk therapy to surface.
How You Talk to Clients About Their Treatment
You explain trauma and treatment differently after EMDR training. You can help clients understand why their body still reacts even when their mind knows they're safe.
How the Work Sits with You
Clinicians using evidence-based trauma treatments that produce measurable resolution report lower rates of compassion fatigue and higher professional satisfaction. EMDR is one of those treatments.
For the full clinical case for EMDR, see our Understanding EMDR overview.

"I really enjoyed this training and Rachel's instruction. The training was engaging and informative. I especially thought Rachel did an excellent job of navigating this training in a virtual space."
