Attachment Trauma Requires a Different Approach to Every Phase

Standard EMDR protocols assume adequate early attachment. When that foundation is missing, clinical decisions change at every phase. This training gives you a developmental framework for attachment across the lifespan, then walks through what to adjust in Phases 1-8 for both children and adults with inadequate attachment histories. You will leave knowing what to look for and what to do differently.

What This Looks Like in Practice

After This Training

  • Confidence using EMDR with early attachment trauma instead of referring out
  • A developmental framework for understanding attachment across the lifespan
  • Clear clinical adaptations for each EMDR phase when attachment is the issue
  • Skills for working with both children and adults with inadequate attachment
  • Less second-guessing when attachment-related material surfaces in session
