3 Common "Oops!" Moments with EMDR and Dissociation

Join the 3-day livestream series where we will get clear on what dissociation looks like, how to move into trauma reprocessing even when dissociation is part of the equation, and where we as clinicians can look inward to help our clients.

Do you think you can’t use EMDR when your client is dissociative? Or do you think you don’t know enough about dissociation to work with these clients?

Avoiding EMDR with dissociative clients or choosing not to work with them isn’t going to solve your problem.

One of the top questions we hear from clinicians is "How do I move beyond finding out my client is dissociative? What do I do next?”

As seasoned EMDR clinicians, we have learned how to work with dissociation and still integrate EMDR therapy and we want to teach you!

Join us for our free, three-day livestream series, covering the following topics:

If I don't see it, it's not there

Wednesday, October 6
9:00am - 9:30am EDT

How do you know it’s dissociation? A lot of clinicians think they need to see a big obvious shift or change that happens during a session in order to diagnose dissociation. But that’s not true. It can be very subtle. We’ll talk through the different presentations of dissociation and what it can look like.

I am stuck in Phase 2

Thursday, October 7
12:00pm - 12:30pm EDT

What if you fall on the other side of the spectrum? You see the dissociation but are too afraid to move into trauma reprocessing without doing more resourcing. We’ll talk about how we handled that feeling and how we’ve been able to move into trauma reprocessing with clients who have dissociation and the modifications that can be made.

What's your DES score?

Friday, October 8
9:00am - 9:30am EDT

Have you ever taken the DES yourself? If so, how have you processed that information? We’re going to look at ourselves and our own processes, and our own possible dissociation and how that might be interacting in the room with our clients and their dissociation.

You’re not alone in your struggles with EMDR and dissociation. Many clinicians feel confusion or fear on how to move forward - let’s answer those questions and quell those fears!
